After years of financial abuse my abuser left me with nothing. I earned $50k pa more than him and bailed him out of his $49k debt. When we met he had no car, no phone, limited clothes and had court costs (with his ex). I helped him through it all. He became financially confident on my income then left me with nothing. He took my car, a house deposit and I was left with no money, a 17 year old car, no home, no job and three young children (one with a physical disability) and limited capacity to earn. I fought in court as long as I could but in December ‘rolled over’.
I realise many single women have been through this and worse.
Now I’m am over the unfairness of it all but simply can’t get ahead. I sometimes do not eat to provide for my children.
I am applying for jobs.
I simply cannot afford to seek any financial advice but believe I am in the right mindset to make big changes; for myself and for my children!
