Omega-3 fatty acids come from a whole variety of sources apart from fish oil.

These include linseeds, dark, leafy greens and even algae. Vegetarians or vegans don't need to miss out on getting their daily Omega-3 dose.

Studies show that the health benefits of Omega-3 oils can lower blood pressure, reduce triglycerides, slow the development of plaque in the arteries, reduce the chance of abnormal heart rhythm, reduce the likelihood of heart attack and stroke, and lessen the chance of sudden cardiac death in people with heart disease.
